A preferred list of two or three bidders will be drawn up by the end of May and the final asking price is expected to be around £500m.
The Dutch power market is attracting strong international interest as it succumbs to competition. Eastern has gradually been expanding its continental interests. It recently paid £42m for a 36% stake in Savon Voima in Finland.
