Peterborough direct mail company Mailtech has purchased what is believed to be the second oldest printing company in the city.
Peterborough direct mail company Mailtech has purchased what is believed to be the second oldest printing company in the city. The City Ruling Company was established in the 1950s. It derives its name from the fact that, prior to the introduction of modern printing techniques, the production of ruled paper and forms with lines and boxes was a complex printing task. In its early days the company specialised in this type of printing but has kept up to date with new technology. It now produces a wide range of business stationery, brochures and other printed items on modern presses. Mailtech director Andrew Whittaker said: “Many of our clients ask us not just to mail out material for them but to print it as well. We have placed a lot of business with The City Ruling Company over the years and always been impressed with the quality and service. “When we heard it was on the market we decided that acquiring it would be an ideal opportunity to develop our own services.” The printing firm, which employs three people, will remain in its present premises at Eastern Industry but the new owners are already looking at plans for expansion into adjacent premises, the purchase of more new equipment and recruitment of additional staff. |
