A new online food consumer venture has secured funding with the help of Cambridgeshire Business Services, the organisation delivering Business Link services. BigBarn.co.uk raised substantial investment through the Government’s Small Firms Loan Guarantee Scheme and business angels. BigBarn is a web portal developed to help local consumers tap into more than 2,500 independent producers, buy local fresh and organic produce, find specialist producers who deliver throughout the UK, as well as recipes and a guide to seasonal produce. • CBS’s new head office is at Centenary House in Huntingdon. Field staff will be located at hot desks at partners’ offices in Cambridge, Peterborough and Wisbech while the University of Cambridge Institute of Manufacturing will accommodate other CBS staff at its Cambridge base.
