Waste Recycling pre-tax profits fell 12 per cent to £10m in the six months to the end of June. Turnover advanced from £86.9m to £129.1m. The outbreak of foot and mouth disease and the wet winter cost the company around £1m in profit, said chief executive Nigel Sandy. He said conditions had improved in the second quarter and the group was on target to meet full-year expectations. The company has acquired rival Integrated Waste Management for £30.9m. |
