A Turf cutting ceremony heralded the commencement of the latest speculative office building on the Cambridge Science Park. A Turf cutting ceremony heralded the commencement of the latest speculative office building on the Cambridge Science Park. Dencora House will provide 16,000 sq ft of comfort-cooled offices within a headquarters style building on one of the last remaining development plots on the Park. Chris Bradley Watson, MD of developer Dencora 2000 Ltd comments: ‘’We are very excited to be involved with a scheme at the Cambridge Science Park, the premier location within Silicon Fen. “This building will provide the perfect environment for a hi-tech or biotech research firm. The Park is already home to over 60 companies which benefit from fantastic amenities such as a children’s nursery, health club and Q.ton conference centre and restaurant.’’ Dencora 2000 is a young, dynamic development and investment company born out of Dencora plc. It specialises in the development, refurbishment and acquisition of business space in East Anglia, the South East and the Midlands. Jamie Green of Bidwells Property Consultants, who is advising on Dencora House and other regional developments, is confident of attracting the right occupier. ‘’At 16,000 sq ft, Dencora House is a perfect ‘midrange’ size that allows a medium sized company to have its own front door and identity. Many expanding Cambridge companies outgrow their incubator premises and are faced with acquiring shared space within much larger buildings. “Dencora House will have functional space on two open plan floors with access to the A14. We have already received a lot of interest from prospective clients.’’ The building contract is being fulfilled by Swallow Construction, based in Northampton, with a completion date of Spring 2002. |
