John Stent, dynamic MD at the fast-growing London Stansted Airport, is guest speaker at Business Weekly’s East of England Business Awards gala presentation dinner in Cambridge next February. Stent has presided over the strong growth of the airport which, in turn, has underpinned a resilient East of England economy. The region’s biggest employer, Stansted has also spearheaded crucial infrastructure improvements as well as a green transport policy. This year’s Awards have attracted a record entry to date from all areas of the region and all industry sectors. Among new entries are the rapidly growing Linx Printing Technologies in St Ives and exciting technology newcomer Imerge from Cambridge. Linx supplies marking and coding solutions to global industry and recently reported another strong year of growth with total revenues 36 per cent ahead to £47.6m and profit before tax up 19 per cent to £5.2m. Imerge, a spin-out from Generics, recently closed a new funding round of £2.5m. The business develops next generation media appliance software and associated hardware for the converging digital markets of audio, video, telecoms, broadcasting and the internet. |
