Eastern Counties specialist exhausts and components distributor Exhausts Unlimited (EU) has bought its Lincolnshire counterpart Linco plc. Eastern Counties specialist exhausts and components distributor Exhausts Unlimited (EU) has bought its Lincolnshire counterpart Linco plc.

The seven-figure deal will result in a £12m turnover business operating over 130 vans from 17 depots from the Thames to the Humber. Linco employs 60 people in depots at Boston, Spalding, Lincoln, Newark, Grantham and Horncastle. It was started in 1983 by Colin Casey who will remain as a consultant for the handover to EU.

EU was formed after the purchase from receivers of the Peter Arundell company for £10,000 in 1983. In the ensuing 19 years it has grown to a turnover of £8m, operating from 11 depots throughout East Anglia and East London.

It is part of the Shortis Group, which has a £25m turnover and employs 400 staff at 47 sites.

All the Linco staff and management will join EU, which has sites in Norwich, Colchester, Basildon, King’s Lynn, Ipswich, Holbeach, Cambridge, Gt Yarmouth and Peterborough.
