The vibrancy of industrial expansion in Milton Keynes has been demonstrated by a major deal involving packaging and distribution company MacFarlane Group UK Ltd. Laing Property has let the largest speculative unit in MK to the company at its industrial scheme at Whitehall Avenue, Kingston. The 62,322 sq ft unit, known as XL, includes offices, raised floors, separate secure yards and dedicated tailgate and level loading doors. It is part of a two-unit scheme comprising more than 175,000 sq ft. MacFarlane joins Culina Logistics, the warehousing and distribution company owned by German yoghurt giant Muller, which took the neighbouring XXL unit last March. Laing director Nigel Turner said: “With three lettings totalling over 275,000 sq ft in the last 12 months out confidence in Milton Keynes has been verified. Demand in MK is strong and we need more stock in the area to continue this success.” Laing has also sublet Laing Homes’ former 103,700 sq ft distribution facility at Garamonde Drive to Maersk Logistics UK Ltd to service a new contract with Mitsubishi. |
