SNS Group plc has acquired Warman & Bannister's UK (Cambridge) and Netherlands (Eindhoven) businesses to create one of Europe's largest independent marketing services groups specialising in the business-to-business sector.

The newly expanded SNS Group will offer a full range of integrated marketing communications services including brand strategy, PR, advertising, design, new media, exhibition and event management.

The acquisition of Warman & Bannister strengthens the SNS Group's expertise in electronics,

The deal will bring W&B's international clients including Philips Semiconductors, Philips Medical Systems and Linx Printing Technologies into a broader SNS Group portfolio that includes Cadence Design Systems, Altera and Regent Associates.

SNS Group Chairman Len Scannell said: “By joining forces with W&B, we have significantly strengthened the SNS Group.

“There is great synergy between the businesses and people. As a bigger group we can give our clients access to a broader range of services, skills and expertise.

“The deal puts SNS Group in a strong position as one of Europe's leading independent marketing communications agencies and ensures that the business has a very exciting future.”

Simon McKay, previously managing director of Warman & Bannister in Cambridge, will continue to head up Cambridge-based operations and Philips PR client business.

He said: “Merging W&B into the SNS Group is mutually beneficial to both parties. Staff and clients have warmly welcomed the news.”
