Hermann Hauser’s Cambridge VC fund, Amadeus Capital Partners, has led a 15 million euro financing for PacketFront, a Stockholm-based company that provides systems that manage the end-to-end delivery of multiple broadband services for telecom operators. The round was one of the largest in Sweden this year. PacketFront was founded in 2001 and has more than 20 customers in Europe and North America. The new capital will be used to target telecom operators in Asia and the US. The company opened a new office in Tokyo last month and plans to open premises in Boston in the next couple of weeks. PacketFront’s systems allow operators to offer and manage a wide range of different data, voice and video ‘triple play’ services (telephone, television and broadband) simultaneously over a common network infrastructure. Successful realisations from the Amadeus portfolio include Entropic – which was bought by Microsoft, and Element-14 – bought by Broadcom Corporation. |
