Prelude Trust plc, the investment trust that specialises in early stage, technology-based businesses, has appointed David Quysner to the board as a non-executive director.
Prelude Trust plc, the investment trust that specialises in early stage, technology-based businesses, has appointed David Quysner to the board as a non-executive director. He is a former chairman of the British Venture Capital Association and has more than 30 years experience in the venture capital industry. Quysner is also chairman of Abingworth Management Limited, Comino Group plc, Quester VCT3 and Finsbury Technology Trust. Having obtained an MA from Cambridge, Quysner began his career at 3i before moving in 1982 to Abingworth a venture capital fund management company specialising in technology and life sciences investments in the US and Europe. He became MD of Abingworth in 1994 and chairman in 2002. As a member of the London Stock Exchange’s Smaller Companies Working Party he helped to launch London’s AIM Market, going on to serve on the AIM Advisory Committee. More recently he became a member of the Williams Committee dealing with the Financing of High Technology Companies and the University Challenge Fund Steering Committee. Quysner said: “Prelude is one of the few quoted venture capital companies focused on investing in early stage technology and life science projects in the UK. “Over some 20 years, Bob Hook and the Prelude team have built an excellent reputation for finding companies with proprietary technologies and then building world-class businesses around the teams behind those innovations.” |
