Publisher Emap, is being forced to sell ABI Building Data Limited after the Competition Commission ruled that the acquisition resulted in a substantial lessening of competition for the supply of construction project information and contact data in the UK. Both Peterborough-based Emap, through subsidiary Glenigan, and ABI – acquired for £14m in May 2004 – are by far the largest providers of PICD to the construction industry, used by companies to attract new business. |
