The pulling power of Business Weekly has handed a major boost to a duo of innovative East of England companies. Early stage venture SimuGen and ‘older hand’ Asymptote, have garnered worldwide interest from investors and potential customers, respectively, as a direct result of Business Weekly reports. SimuGen, which is combining microarray and machine learning technologies in a bid to remove the requirement for animal testing in the drug development process, says it has been approached by several business angels following an article in last week’s edition of BW. It will weigh up the offers over the coming months. Asymptote was featured for its development of a revolutionary technology that could make frozen food taste as good as the fresh equivalent – a potentially massive breakthrough in a multi-billion pound global industry. The company says that as a direct result of our story it has received around 15 high-level approaches from multinational food companies, many from the US. It is understood commercialisation talks are progressing well.
