Fast-growing Ipswich company, the Adcock Group has expanded into larger premises following a series of high profile contract wins. The air conditioning and refrigeration specialist has moved from the base it established in Ipswich over 30 years ago to a much larger 3,800 sq ft facility at Olympus Court. Its new premises provides more than double its previous floorspace. Adcock is recruiting fast to service national work with high street chains. The most recent, with a London-listed hospitality group covers 473 outlets. It has also carried out an installation project for a household name in the retail sector, covering a significant number of branches. It has already taken on a number of highly-skilled engineers and apprentices in recent weeks and is still actively recruiting. The company currently employs 15 but that number is set to rise in line with its growth strategy. Among the local companies it has carried out installation, service and maintenance contracts for are Boots’ distribution centres, the Port of Ipswich and travel company, Fred.Olsen. The depth and strength of Adcock’s expertise means that it is often called upon to handle particularly sensitive projects. Some of the most precious jewels and artefacts on the planet – the collection housed at the Tower of London – are being preserved in optimum condition thanks to its know-how. Adcock supplied, installed and commissioned state-of-the-art equipment to improve the conditioned air serving the jewel cases. The collection includes not just gems but also gold, silver, ermine, fabric and leather - all of which require a low humidity environment. It also recently installed air conditioning as part of the multi-million pound refurbishment of one of the world’s most famous sporting arenas. |
