Leading players in the healthcare and veterinary industries have handed Mobas, an integrated advertising agency based in Cambridge, a string of high profile, strategic contracts. Leading players in the healthcare and veterinary industries have handed Mobas, an integrated advertising agency based in Cambridge, a string of high profile, strategic contracts.

All the clients have a national or international agenda.

Among them is The National Blood Service (NBS), which is responsible for co-ordinating the collection, processing and supply of blood and blood products in England and North Wales.

It has awarded Mobas a three-year contract.

The NBS has worked with Mobas on a variety of projects, including literature publicising the introduction of an appointment system for blood donors, and general donor recruitment advertising.

The latest development opens up opportunities for the agency to produce further creative work for the Service.

One of the strongest and most successful trade associations in the world – the National Pharmaceutical Association – is also using Mobas expertise.

The NPA is the voice of Britain’s community pharmacy-owners. It was formed in 1921 to champion the interests of pharmacy owners and to promote, improve and protect an essential service to the public.

Mobas was appointed to work with the NPA on a number of projects that will carry the association into the 21st century. Tasks are likely to include an overhaul of the NPA’s image and branding, and producing material to accompany sweeping new developments in pharmacy, instigated by the Govern-ment.

Colchester-based Care UK, the London-quoted provider of person-centred care, has appointed Mobas to work on a number of projects.

Already Mobas has written, designed and produced Care UK’s corporate bro-chure; a mailer promoting the company’s entry into the primary care market; a recruitment pack and inserts to attract healthcare professionals; and completed out a number of copywriting projects.

A further wave of communication material, both printed and electronic, is now in the pipeline.

Mobas has also been appointed to carry out re-branding, identity roll-out, global event support and website creation by Cam-bridge-based medical device company Ranier Technology.

Formed in 1995, Ranier is engaged in the research, design and development of novel medical devices which address major areas of unsatisfied clinical need and transform patient care and quality of life.

Ranier is actively developing an artificial spinal disc replacement, while also developing catheter balloon technology for applications in cardiology and urology.

Mobas has begun work on creating a new brand identity for Ranier and designing a stand for a forthcoming exhibition. Design and production of the company’s website will follow.

A major European name in animal healthcare products, Virbac Animal Health, has tasked Mobas with handling the media planning and buying for all its advertising for 2005.

Mobas has already created promotional and advertising campaigns for many Virbac products, including one that deals with unwanted canine pregnancies; a cat and dog sedative; and a revolutionary anti-viral product.

Virbac Animal Health has been developing innovative veterinary pharmaceuticals for over 35 years.

With headquarters in Carros, France, and a UK office in Bury St Edmunds, Virbac specialises in cat and dog products in areas such as vaccines, antibiotics, parasiticides, dermatology and anaesthetics.
