Intellectual property specialist Simon Crossley has quit global law firm Dorsey & Whitney to join the commercial practice of Eversheds in Cambridge as a partner.

Crossley has a wide range of experience advising on major strategic transactions in the biotech, pharmaceutical, software and semi-conductor industries on a national and international basis.

Prior to joining Dorsey & Whitney, he held a senior in-house counsel position at NASDAQ-listed software firm Accelrys, again in Cambridge.

Crossley adds: “Joining Eversheds will allow me to work for some of the world’s biggest companies as well as reinforcing my long-standing links with the local business community in the Cambridge area. The firm is a heavyweight in the region and I am keen to help it build upon that local presence.”

Legal Week meanwhile reports that Fennemores is set to lose three of the most senior partners from its Milton Keynes headquarters.

The group, which includes senior partner Simon Ingram, joint commercial property head Rob Goffman and corporate and commercial partner Chris Robinson, are said to have resigned to join highly rated rival EMW Law.

Legal Week says the departures leaves Fennemores with just 10 full partners in its MK office.
