The party comprised representatives from the Chinese Embassy, Chinese companies, Essex Development and Regeneration Agency, an incubator in Guangzhou and UK Trade and Investment.

It was organised by East of England International.

At NRP, the visitors were welcomed by Jon Carter, bio-incubator manager, who gave an outline of the groundbreaking work going on in plant and microbial science, food research, health, the environment and information systems.

Jan Andrews, head of business development at EEI said: “This roadshow has taken in seven different incubators from Norwich to Hertfordshire.

“It has given our visitors the chance to see for themselves the first-class opportunities and comprehensive support programmes we can offer to Chinese companies wishing to set up here and provides the opportunity for networking and discussion on closer collaboration for the future.”

The delegation also visited: Hertfordshire Business Incubation Centre in Stevenage, Cranfield University in Cran-field, Bedfordshire, the Knowledge Centre at Wyboston Lakes in Bedfordshire, St John’s Innovation Centre in Cambridge and IP-City Centre and BT Adastral Park, both in Ipswich, Suffolk.
