Instone International, a world leading marine and offshore travel specialist, has opened a new UK operations centre in Great Yarmouth. Instone International, a world leading marine and offshore travel specialist, has opened a new UK operations centre in Great Yarmouth.

Founded in 1919, the company has offices in 15 countries and employs more than 200 people. Over 30 of them are based at its Edison Way centre.

The company moved to Yarmouth after outgrowing its offices in Lowestoft.

Before that, its UK operations centre was in Brentwood, Essex.

CEO Edgar Ekeseth said the new 6,500 sq ft of custom-designed accommodation would enable the company to grow considerably.

Instone International was founded in 1919 as Instone Airlines, later amalgamated into Imperial Airways, a forerunner of today’s British Airways.

It is now an £87m business with offices in 15 countries and further expansion scheduled over the next 12-18 months.

The company has major operations in the UK, Norway, Greece, Russia, Denmark and the Nether-lands and is owned by FTSE-100 listed venture capitalist 3i, in tandem with management and private investors.
