Norfolk and Waveney Enterprise Services has won a £2.8 million contract to deliver business advice and training to individuals under the New Deal Self Employment option, writes Alice Walker.

The contract covers delivery in the Eastern, East Midlands and Yorkshire/ Humber regions and seeks to provide individuals with the opportunity to acquire or develop the knowledge, skills and experience required to succeed in independent self-employment.

Delivery starts at the beginning of July and NWES will be working with partners to deliver local services in co-ordination with Jobcentre plus.

NWES chief executive, Kevin Horne, said: “Not only will we be working closely with carefully selected partner enterprise agencies across the regions, it gives us confidence in the knowledge that our methods of business advice and training are fundamental to ensuring that our economy has a healthy output of young businesses.”
