Banham Compost, which is a subsidiary of Banham Poultry, has signed a £1.7 million contract with TEG Environment that should see the Norfolk firm have an operational in-vessel composting facility at Carleton Rode by the end of 2006, writes Alexander Sempredes.
Banham Compost, which is a subsidiary of Banham Poultry, has signed a £1.7 million contract with TEG Environment that should see the Norfolk firm have an operational in-vessel composting facility at Carleton Rode by the end of 2006, writes Alexander Sempredes. The facility will consist of two banks of 24 TEG Silo Cages with a nominal capacity of 28,000 tonnes of feed per annum. It will predominantly process chicken feathers and other food industry waste streams. TEG will manufacture and install its plant into a Banham facility, while Banham manages the civil engineering separate to the TEG contract. Planning approval was gained in April this year along with proposals for a 5.5MW renewable power plant on the outskirts of nearby Attleborough.
