Cambridge-based ANT plc, a market leading provider of software and solutions for the IPTV, hybrid TV and consumer electronics industries, has won a new contract with US office solutions giant, Xerox Corporation, to supply its Galio browser for screen-based photocopier user interface. The agreement will enable Xerox, the world’s leading document management company, to incorporate ANT Galio in its products for worldwide distribution and includes a one-time licence payment and a volume-dependent royalty in-come stream to ANT. Simon Woodward, ANT’s chief executive, said: “ANT remains highly focused on the opportunities presented by the IPTV and wider digital TV market in which our presence continues to grow. “However we do not lose sight of a wide range of additional opportunities to deploy our unique technology in non-TV applications. Opportunities for Galio exist wherever content presentation and screen-based user interfaces require flexibility and easy configuration at low cost. “Our policy in non-TV application markets is to license our technology to world leaders in their field who will derive the greatest benefit and drive scale and volume for the application. “I am therefore delighted to have secured such a major customer as Xerox Corpor-ation for this type of application. The agreement with Xerox demonstrates that the opportunities for Galio throughout the office and consumer electronic market are very significant.”
