IMS MAXIMS has signed a £5 million three-year contract with BT for the supply of its web-based software in a major Essex-based NHS Trust. IMS MAXIMS has signed a £5 million three-year contract with BT for the supply of its web-based software in a major Essex-based NHS Trust.

The firm will provide four IMS clinical applications in Barking, Havering and Red-bridge NHS Trust (BHRT) to support Order Communications and Results Reporting, Clinical Documentation, Therapies and Oncology.

Shares in the Milton Keynes-based small-cap soared 30 per cent, up 0.75 pence to 3.25 pence a share before settling at 3.13.

IMS managing director, Brian Ennis, said: “IMS has made significant investment over many years in the development of advanced clinical software and we are delighted that our products have been chosen for BHRT. This is an important recognition of the quality of IMS products.

“Finalisation of this contract validates the company’s decision to persevere with the continuing development of advanced applications to supplement the LSP offerings.

“The company believes that successful implementation in BHRT could provide opportunities for further sales to new customers elsewhere in the NHS.”
