BDO Stoy Hayward, a member of the world’s fifth-largest accountancy network, is to standardise on Autonomy technology throughout the enterprise. Successful long-term use of Autonomy technology in BDO Stoy Hayward’s internal systems and on its UK website has led the organisation to select Autonomy to power its entire corporate extranet. BDO Stoy Hayward already uses Autonomy extensively for its corporate intranet of around 3000 users, connecting 600 offices in 100 countries. Autonomy technology is used to link the disparate file and print systems of the regional offices, integrating the data and allowing users to search across the 1 terabyte of content within enterprise repositories. BDO’s risk management department has also developed a risk management environment using Autonomy, which indexes all corporate data including unstructured information sources such as text documents and presentations but currently excluding email. The system has trawled and indexed over 8,000,000 documents to date from BDO Stoy Hayward’s file and print systems.
