The latest summit builds on the economic partnership agreement signed by the parties when they visited Cambridge 18 months ago, which forged unprecedented links between the two locations.

Since then there have been collaborations on a number of high profile activities, as well as participation in programmes of introductions

for companies on both sides of the Atlantic and the sharing of best practice among business incubators and innovation centres.

This year’s three day programme included tours of the Cambridge Science Park, the Bio-Park in Ipswich, and the University of Hertfordshire, as well as attending a networking meeting with biotech facilitator ERBI and a presentation on the development of the Waterfront Development and the new University Campus Suffolk, both in Ipswich.

economic partnership agreement between our two world-class regions which offers great potential for our businesses.

“We are pleased with the cultural and university ties which have been developed and we are now ready to move onto the next stage in our collaboration. This will include exploring opportunities to bring

our businesses together at overseas events which East of England companies will be attending and we hope to further strengthen the connections between our universities.”
