Following help from UKTI’s Passport to Export programme, a Colchester inventor has won a prestigious prize at a French trade show for his ingenious ‘Sea Hammock’, a device which allows you to float in the water with your body completely submerged.
The Sea Hammock allows the user to lie out on their front or back with the body underwater up to the shoulders. Its lightweight frame rests on the bottom of the pool or sea and the sling adjusts to the depth of water.T he design also supports the neck for reading while in the water. Chris Brindle, managing director of Use-it-more.com, signed up to UKTI’s Passport to Export programme because of the limited UK market for hot weather equipment. He used funding from UKTI’s SOLO programme to travel to Lyon and attend the prestigious Piscine-Expo show where he won theaward for best new product for the environment of the swimming pool. |
