Established in 1981, Anglia Business Solutions successfully straddles the East of England’s new and old economies, specialising in IT systems for the fresh produce sector.
The company, which has entered the Innovation category of this year’s Awards, builds the LINKFresh software solution for fresh produce companies needing to take advantage of new potentially business-saving IT developments without the need to completely reinstall infrastructure. LINKFresh uses Microsoft Navision to create integrated state of the art modules specifically designed for the fresh produce sector. Navision gives users access to ‘out-of-the-box’ functionality, but when Anglia adds its industry experience, users are granted a bespoke solution, closely tailored to their needs which is capable of changing to meet evolving tends. Anglia Business Solutions has developed further innovations for the sector, like the LABELCheck add-on for the LINKFresh module, which addresses the needs of the fresh produce sector of having extremely accurate, verifiable labelling. Major supermarkets are imposing fines of up to £50,000 for incorrectly labelled goods, so Anglia has created software that can rectify problems on-site and allows communication in real-time avoiding costly delays. Development director, Richard Jones said “The problem in fast moving consumer goods is that when errors are picked up, the time lag between detection and responding can be considerable. “Information is frequently captured on paper and then subsequently entered electronically. “The inherent time lag means that by the time an error is detected, the goods could be delivered to the customer with significant consequences.” Anglia has won many previous awards for its products, including this year’s Channel Network Awards E-Business Solution of the Year for the fourth year running. |
