Cambridge Business Travel (CBT), entrant in the Private Company of the Year and International Trade categories, was founded in 1993 as an independent business travel agency which could offer an alternative to the large and impersonal organisations.
Founded by the two partners, Stuart Scott and William Burnett and accredited to the International Air Transportation Association, the company moved to the Cambridge Science Park in December 1993 and has since become a firm favourite in the local business community. More than 200 companies, in the UK and abroad, use the services of Cambridge Business Travel, offering account facilities across the spectrum of business, from single entities to plc. Its success has been built on the offer of an honest, unbiased, professional and personal service to the business community. The company approach is to be as flexible as possible and meet the individual requirements of each traveller within any given company travel policy. CBT aims to apply in-house expertise promptly and efficiently to relieve the burden on the traveller and the travel organiser – a service that competitors have great difficulty matching. To do this CBT has a team of 10 consulting staff headed by operations director, Richard Munday, who also sits on the board of the User Group of the Amadeus Global Distribution System, one of the four major players in the travel market. |
