Aircraft safety specialist, STG Aerospace, has won a contract to supply Air Canada’s domestic fleet with the ‘glow-in-the-dark’ floorpath marking strips that guide passengers to the aircraft’s emergency exits. The deal for the photoluminescent SafTGlo system is one of the largest single orders in STG’s history and follows hot on the heels of a supply contract with British Airways announced in November. Air Canada is the 14th largest commercial airline in the world and has a fleet of 200 aircraft. Peter Stokes, STG’s managing director, said: “This is a very significant order for STG. “Not only are we to supply and fit SafTGlo to the domestic fleet of a major world airline, but Air Canada is regularly voted the best carrier in North America, and is recognised as one of the world’s safest airlines.”
