Peter Brotherhood Ltd has invested in a new 5,400 sq ft site to cope with the growing amount of equipment and machinery needed to service the company's increasing workload.
The Peterborough-based engineering firm said it expected the trend of winning an increasing number of new contracts to continue and that the new premises would be needed to cater for them. PBL is initially using its new facility to expand the Aftermarket Division by opening a new purpose-built engineering service centre dedicated to the provision of after sales services. The building has been equipped with state-of-the-art light machine centres as well as lifting equipment and assembly areas purposely designed so that work can be carried out quickly and efficiently. It will service, repair and refurbish reciprocating and rotating machinery manufactured by PBL as well as by other companies. "The aftermarket business has increased in recent years and we have seen an influx of orders that has prompted us to set up a dedicated service centre," said Bob Paterson, aftermarket director at PBL. "Peter Brotherhood's skills and expertise in working in the reciprocating and rotating machinery business means we are very well placed to serve this aftermarket effectively." Peter Brotherhood has seen an increase in the number of machines brought into the factory for refurbishment over recent years, a trend it believes is set to continue. It employs almost 300 people at its manufacturing facility in Peterborough and has an international reputation as a specialist in the design and manufacture of steam turbines, reciprocating gas compressors, combined heat and power systems and special purpose machinery. |
