Greene King's 36 week results in line with expectations

Bury St Edmunds brewer and pub operator, Greene King has announced that its results for the 36 weeks to January 7 are in line with management expectations.

The firm said that Pub Company total like-for-like sales were up 3.4% over the 36 week period, while like-for-like turnover in Pub Partners was up 1.3%. It added that food sales have grown strongly, but that liquor sales were down.

Shares in the firm were down one per cent, or 11p to 1063p following the news.
