Peterborough-based media giant, Emap has announced its acquisition of user-generated mobile phone content provider, Yospace technologies for £8.7m in cash.
Yospace, based in Staines, provides a platform upon which subscribers can share photos and videos, including it's 'See me TV' and 'Look at me TV' services via a mobile phone. The firm made a loss of £480k, for the year ending 31 December 2005. Emap cites its strategy of "focussing resources onto faster growth digital platforms" as reason for the acquisition, which could see the company paying a further deferred consideration of £5.7m, dependent upon Yospace's performance over the period to 31 March 2010.
