Luton’s Action Aviation has signed a deal with Aviation Technology Group (ATG) to be the sole distributor of its punchy civilian business jet, the Javelin, throughout the Middle East, Africa, the Indian subcontinent, and West Asia. The deal includes orders for 40 Javelin – worth $120 million (£61m) – for delivery to customers over a period of eight years from certification, including a few early premium positions. In addition to the Javelin, Action Aviation is an exclusive distributor for MD helicopters and the Sino Swearingen SJ30. A business toy of the highest order, the Javelin bears a resemblance to the F-18 fighter plane – as used in the movie Top Gun – and has a range of over 1,000 nautical miles (1,150 miles). “With a range of over 1,000 nautical miles and amazing flight times like Dubai to Jeddah in one hour, 57 minutes, this aircraft is a stylish personal transport for one or two people travelling at a time,” said Hamish Harding, chairman of Action Aviation. “Personally, I can’t wait to get my hands on a demonstrator. “All of us at Action Aviation are very excited by the long-term prospects for the Javelin. We looked at the jet in depth and were absolutely amazed by the level of performance that has been achieved with the aircraft.” |
