Following press reports of foul play regarding its provision of premium rate services on Channel 4's 'Richard and Judy show,' Hemel Hempsted-based Eckoh has issued a statement in which it pledges to "cooperate fully" with proposed investigations by investigations by ICSTIS and Channel 4.
It was alleged that callers to the £1-per-call number were invited to ring the programme after potential winners had already been selected. Eckoh said that it "takes very seriously its obligations to ensure that its services comply with the relevant regulatory codes," and that it had "alerted the programme makers to the potential breach in regulations." Following the news, shares in Eckoh took a two per cent fall to 12.25p. |
