Cambridge integrated antenna solutions company, Antenova, announced its GPS RADIONOVA® RF antenna module for embedded GPS applications for mobile handsets, personal navigation devices, PDA’s and laptop computers.
The module integrates a high performance and low power receiver IC with Antenova’s high efficiency single ended internally balanced antenna and will target a highly lucrative market. “GPS RADIONOVA will allow Antenova to address the growing GPS market which is predicted to reach 322 million GPS enabled mobile handset, PDA’s and laptop computers by 2009,” said Greg McCray, CEO of Antenova. “It is the first in our range of RF antenna modules, which will be followed by GSM/CDMA, 3G, dual-mode GPS/GSM and dual-mode WiFi/GSM RF antenna modules. “Integration of the antenna and RF provides optimised performance, placement flexibility and reduced BOM costs – thus making it a lower risk and simpler solution for OEMs to design into their own hardware module solutions.” |
