Norwich-based Sustainable Resource Management (SRM) has been recommended as preferred bidder for Norfolk County Council to build what is being billed as one of Europe’s most advanced and environmentally friendly waste treatment plants.
A subsidiary company of Norfolk Environmental Waste Services (NEWS), SRM would build its Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) facility adjacent to NEWS’ waste recycling centre at Costessey, west of Norwich, to process up to 150,000 tonnes of general household waste that currently goes to landfill. |
