Treatt acquires 50 per cent of fair-trade oils producer

Bury St Edmunds-based flavour and fragrance supplier, Tratt has announced its acquisition of 50 per cent of fair-trade essential oil producer Earthoil for £2.25m, with the option to acquire the remaining 50 per cent in 2012. The deal will see Treatt hold a 50 per cent share in Earthoil Plantations Ltd and Earthoil Kenya Proprietary EPZ Ltd, which the Suffolk firm expects to be earnings neutral in the first year, showing a profit next year, and was made with cash, loan notes and shares.
