Eckoh continues be engaged in fire-fighting in the wake of the ongoing saga of premium rate television phone-ins. ITV has issued a statement to the effect that it intends to suspend all premium rate interactive services in ITV programmes, pending an independent review by Deloitte.
The broadcast firm said that it intends the review to cover two facets; to ensure that existing procedures are robust, and also to review the services over the past two years. The results, which the firm intends to make public will govern the return of ITV's premium rate programming schedule. Eckoh has issued a response committing full support of the review. Chief executive, Nik Philpot said: “We take our obligations very seriously and as one of ITV's suppliers in this area, we will work with the broadcaster and its appointed auditor Deloitte to help them complete their review and rebuild consumer confidence in the industry as quickly as possible.” |
