AT Communications (ATC) in Harlow has reported a 318 per cent increase in pre-tax profits on the back of a 257 per cent turnover boost.

The company released plenty of good news in its results for the year ended December 2006, including a jump in profits to £4.6m from £1.1m for 2005 and an increase in turnover from £15.1m to £54.1m.

ATC also announced a maiden dividend of 1p, the sale and leaseback of unencumbered freehold property for £3.5m in cash and an organic revenue growth of 14 per cent.

“We completed two important acquisitions, as well as integrating those acquisitions made in 2005, and are now focussing the Group into three new business units. We now have the triple play of a leading direct solutions integrator, a premier voice and data distributor, and an independent services company,” said Alex Tupman, ATC chief executive.

Shares in ATC shot up 13 per cent after the news, rising 4.5p to 39.5p.
