Pre-tax profits leap by over 600 per cent for Trafficmaster

A 25 per cent jump in revenues for Cranfield-based Trafficmaster caused the company's pre-tax profits to rocket to £5.83m for the full year compared to the £935k it reported last time.

The intelligent in-car services provider said that its its in-vehicle unit sales had doubled and that it had won numerous large contracts including its largest evere, to supply 45,000 units for a Norwich Union ‘Pay As You Drive’ scheme.

“The improved sales performance, strong services revenues and tight control over operating costs, have led to improved performance across all our major business segments,” said Trafficmaster's chief executive, Tony Eales.

Shares in Trafficmaster fell three and a half per cent to 69.5p following the announcement.
