There was mixed news on the US Housing market with some reports that the crisis in sub-prime mortgages was being sorted out and other signs that there is a significant overhang of property coming onto the market at a time when many potential buyers are finding mortgages more difficult to secure. NXT, up 26 per cent over the week, said its Japanese licensee Authentic had launched the latest generation Distributed Mode Actuator (DMA). the new DMA is smaller and louder than its predecessors and offers improved sound quality. NXT’s smallest actuators, piezo-based DMAs are used to transform suitable panels such as the transparent protection screen in front of LCD displays into loudspeakers through direct excitation. As a result of their size, these can be used in mobile phones, portable digital players, or any other product with an LCD screen where design and performance are prerequisites. Trans-Siberian Gold is to hold an EGM on March 30 at which a statement requisitioned by Jocelyn Waller, a former director, and other minority shareholders, holding in total 12.9 per cent of Trans-Siberian shares, will be discussed. Shareholders will be asked to approve the disposal of all of its interests in its two wholly owned subsidiaries, to AngloGold Ashanti for a cash consideration of $40m. CDT rose 15 per cent on a belated recognition of the preliminary results it announced on March 1. Zenith Hygiene was the poorest performer, down 11 per cent after the FD, Richard Colwell, said he was resigning to pursue other interests, AT Communications dropped 10 per cent due to the placing of a substantial block of shares from a holder who had decided to sell all his holdings of companies listed on AIM. |
