Huntingdon-based Lola Group, famed for its composites work in motorsport, has invested £250,000 in a new machining centre to meet the increasing amount of work coming in from the aerospace and space sectors, including an undisclosed UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) contract. The new 5-axis machining centre will replace a 14 year-old model, which will increase speed and capacity of production by an average of 25 per cent. Engineering manager, Rob Hewison, said further expansion could see the purchase of a second machine in 2008. |
