International law firm Eversheds has been appointed to the South East England Development Agency’s project team for the regeneration of Daedalus in South Hampshire.
The former Royal Navy Air Station, covering 82.4 hectares (204 acres) in Lee-on-the-Solent and Stubbington, is one of the largest brownfield sites for regeneration in the region. Eversheds joins a project team which includes Terence O’Rourke and Drivers Jonas to develop a plan for the future of the site. The overriding vision is to create a quality business location that will attract inward investment and create employment opportunities. The final scheme is also envisaged to provide a mix of other uses such as educational and leisure facilities and quality homes with affordable housing. The core team will work alongside local planners to arrive at a solution that meets local needs and makes the most of the existing features of the site, including the use of the airfield and access to the Solent. The Eversheds team is led by Norwich based senior associate Alice Liddle. She said: “This is a very significant piece of work and is another sign of the strength of our real estate offering in the region. “Daedalus represents a central piece in the jigsaw of regeneration in the South East and is creating a great deal of excitement.” |
