Cambridge law firm Taylor Vinters has bolstered its charity expertise with the recruitment of sector specialist Janet Turner QC.
She formerly headed the legal function at WRVS, one of the UK’s top 10 national charities by turnover, and is also a non-executive director of Norwich & Peterborough Building Society. Christine Berry, Taylor Vinters’ managing partner, said: “Janet’s appointment re-flects our wish to service a wider range of projects for our expanding charities client base in the region and nationally. “It’s a dynamic sector that requires advice on all fours with the commercial imperatives of charities’ strategic operations. The fact that two other firms have just come into the Cambridge market validates our view that Cambridge is a leading centre for professional services to the third sector.” Taylor Vinters is top-rated in the legal directories for its 15-strong team of specialists in the charities sector, acting for a range of major charities in the educational and institutional fields, and for faith groups, arts and sporting charities. The firm recently hosted a sell-out series of strategic masterclasses for senior executives in the charity sector.
