Domino acquires UK distribution firm for £300k

Bar Hill-based Domino Printing Sciences has announced its £300k acquisition of On-Line Coding Limited, the UK distributor of the firm's thermal transfer overprinting (TTO) product range.

The deal will see Domino pay an initial consideration of £300k, followed by undisclosed conditional, results-based payments in the future.

The acquisition compliments the operations of Danish company, Easyprint, bought by Domino in November last year, which specialises in the design, manufacture and distribution of innovative thermal transfer printing equipment.

As On-Line the UK distributor for Easyprint's products, the natural move was for Domino to also acquire the Reading-based firm and unite the two operations, according to the firm.

“We looked at how to best assimilate the two companies, and decided to acquire On-Line and integrate them,” said a source within Domino.

Domino said that as On-Line is simply a distribution operation for its products, the acquisition would not affect the company's activities at its Bar Hill base. It also said that it expects the purchase of On-Line, which posted full year sales of £750k last year, to have a neutral effect on earnings in the first year.
