Shares in building materials firm, Travis Perkins have seen an almost six per cent gain after it announced a 14 per cent increase in turnover for the first four months of 2007.
In a trading update released ahead of its AGM, the Northampton-based firm said that group turnover had risen 13.9 per cent to the end of April, with chairman, Tim Stevenson adding that “overall, trading is currently ahead of our expectations with both the merchanting and retailing businesses performing well.” “Our business has made excellent progress in the first four months of 2007 in markets that have continued the improvement seen in the latter part of 2006,” he said. Travis Perkins' share price has risen 5.75 per cent, or 115p to 2114p. |
