Autonomy to demerge Blinkx on May 21

Autonomy has announced the date it intends to demerge video search business, Blinkx and float the consumer arm on AIM, earning the parent data search company £25m.

In a statement, Autonomy said that shares will go on sale on May 21, priced between 35p and 45p per share. Autonomy's shareholders will receive one Blinkx share for each share held in the parent, it said, with Blinkx expected to reach a market capitalisation of around £114m.

Autonomy's shares have grown over two per cent, gaining 16p to 770p.
