Royalties from the use of Imagination

System-on-chip intellectual property specialist, Imagination technologies has announced that embedded semiconductor designer and manufacturer, Freescale is to utilise Imagination's PowerVR MBX graphics core in its newly launched multi-core processor.

Imagination said that the product was a result of a multi-use agreement with Freescale, which had been announced previously, but represented a move by the firm to branch into the automotive market.

It added that under the terms of its licensing arrangements, the company would receive royalties on SoCs incorporating Imagination's IP shipped by partners.

Shares in Imagination have dipped marginally, dropping 2p to 119.75p.
