The Sharetrack Index fell 2 per cent last week to 6863.4 reflecting widespread declines amongst the largest constituents of the Index. Of the top 15 stocks only one, Rightmove, managed a gain of more than 1 per cent and that was a mere 1.6 per cent.
The only stock to rise by more than 10 per cent was Office2Office, the stationary supplier, which announced the appointment of Simon Moate as its new chief executive. He will join the board as soon as possible. Moate is currently an executive director of Johnson Service Group, where as chief executive of the facilities management and specialist supplies division, he has led and integrated a number of acquisitions Screen Technology fell 12 per cent to 39p. There was no news item and the level of trading in the company's shares was slight, less than £100,000 for the whole week. Zenith Hygiene fell a further 12 per cent after the fall of 18 per cent in the previous week, which was the result of a disappointing statement on the second half's prospects.
