Norfolk firm chews over Wrigley deal

Lomax Technical Services, a conveying systems maker in Snetterton, Norfolk, has won a major UK contract with chewing gum manufacturer The Wrigley Company Ltd.

No figures are being disclosed for the deal, which comes in the firm’s 10th anniversary year.

Founded in 1997 by Andy Debenham from his home, Lomax has grown steadily. It makes and supplies spiral conveying systems, fluidised belt freezers and straight inline tunnels, which are used mainly in food processing. The company will design, manufacture and supply two bespoke systems for Wrigley’s factory in Plymouth.

Despite fierce competition, Lomax has continued to grow in a tough global market place and moved to a new 3,400 square foot factory last year.

The company’s start up and growth have been aided by strategists from chartered accountancy practice, Lovewell Blake in Thetford.
