Bedford-based flight simulator manufacturer, cueSim, has announced a contract win with Europe's largest automobile club to provide two full flight helicopter simulators in support of its emergency air rescue service.
The Qinetiq subsidiary said that it will provide Allgemeiner Deutshcer Automobil-Club (ADAC) with two state-of-the-art simulators, the first in June 2008, used to train pilots of the Eurocopter EC135 and EC145 helicopters. cueSim simulators feature world leading flight modelling software, complemented by high fidelity motion, force feel control loading, vibration cueing and state-of-the-art visual systems The cueSim full flight simulators (FFS) will be used to train and check pilots at ADAC's HEMS-Academy, a newly established training academy for pilots of the ADAC and its customers. The simulators, to be based at a purpose designed facility at Bonn-Hangelar airfield, will provide a realistic mission environment, able to provide provide training independent of weather conditions or aircraft availability, in which pilots can improve handling of emergencies and demonstrate operational proficiency.
